I was online the other night, checking out different sites, when I simultaneously logged onto iworshiphere.com.  Bill Johnson was speaking in one of the services.  My heart listened, it was ready to.

It was only half an hour ago that I had cried out to God and poured out all the worries that seemed to overtake me recently.  I eventually ended up on the kitchen floor and I said, “Lord, if nothing else ever happens, but I’m here with you, I’m fine.”  I truly meant that .  All I needed and wanted was to live in his presence.  I knew, in the whole scheme of things, that that was all I needed.  He is all I need.  You’re my home, Holy Spirit.  And Papa, Papa, I love you.  I love you.  Jesus.

And like a beacon in the night, this verse came to me, full force.   “Casting the whole of your care – all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all – on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” (I Peter 5:7 Amplified).

So, I obeyed and cast my cares upon Him.  Wave upon wave of concerns about my body (disfigurement from a surgery years ago), my job, even things not fully completed (ministry stuff) because I can’t seem to do this all.  Oh, I need you so much, Lord.  And a peaceful assurance came that I’m to take things a day at a time; he is patient with me (oh, amen Papa).

Bill Johnson reminded me, “What’s important is that what you have dealt with in private, is what God can trust you with in public.”

So be it, Lord.  Fair enough.  We begin again, tonight.  With my heart laid bare.  With me laid bare.  Your love is practical and you will show me ‘the how to’ in the midst of all of this.

And yes, it’s your presence that matters.

I worship you.
